Cosmic Cave

Cosmic Cave is a top-down dungeon crawl game designed to help a mother find her babies. You play as a Cosmic Bat, flying through the cosmos to find your three lost babies somewhere near the constellations.

You must use your sonar ability to conquer different tasks. You must help complete Scorpio, dodge and surpass Aquila, and balance Libra to find all three and reunite at the tree in the Garden of Hesperides.

 

Game was created over the span of 4 days during Global Game Jam 2021.

Blueprint of the the text prompted to you throughout the game to help guide and support you. Text prompt areas were placed in the world and situation text was typed per area.

Blueprint of lightning spawn zone. After the player walked through the trigger, lightning would spawn periodically from the other end, force the player to need to dodge them to reach the top and stop Aquila.

Blueprint of the Libra scales, taking in the variables for both scales when a new asteroid was placed on them and checking if they were balanced. Should they be balanced, the wall blocking the way would break.

Blueprint of the asteroid construct bp, creating a level designer friendly asteroid to place in the world. From there, they would be able to set the mesh of the asteroid from the world and set the mass for the puzzle design, resizing the asteroid depending on the mass of the object.
